How We Got Started
The Full Story
Sunday Cups Instagram Page @sunday.cups was founded in 2021. The page was created by two Dalhousie University students based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, who had a pure passion and love for coffee. During 2021, the covid-19 pandemic caused classes to be held online. Exploring coffee shops to study then became a weekly occurrence. The students soon became aware of the handful of local shops around the city, which is when they decided to launch the social media platform Sunday Cups in March 2021. They wanted to share all the unique coffee shops in Halifax, NS, to make it easier for other locals to explore them as well. When the students eventually had to head back home for their summer breaks they didn't want to stop their and decided to expland their blog. That is when they launced the Travelling Cups Segment in 2022. Travelling Cups has featured some of the best cafes in other provinces and countries around the world. From the pacific to atlantic coast and all the way to the other side of the world (Australia) Sunday Cups continues to grow and feautre unique cafes across the globe!
What is next?
Sunday Cups is ambitiously expanding its reach by growing its team of passionate coffee connoisseurs to cover cafes worldwide, aiming to become the go-to platform for coffee lovers. Sunday Cups plans to build a comprehensive database of local cafes, offering detailed reviews and fostering a sense of community among coffee enthusiasts. By mapping out independent coffee shops, Sunday Cups is not only highlighting the quality of coffee but also the unique environments these cafes create, encouraging social interactions and community building.
